An opportunity has presented itself to merge the Thomas Paine UK society with the Thomas Paine National Historical Society in America. They will rename their society to reflect an international stance, The Thomas Paine Historical Society (TPHA), which is in keeping with Thomas Paine’s quote
“I am a Citizen of The World”.
It has therefore been decided by the officers to dissolve the Thomas Paine UK Society and transfer all our digital assets on our website to the TPHA. This in the light of many efforts over the years to recruit members and people to take on the role of webmaster, secretary and treasurer without success.

The timing is very good, as they are building a new website fit to accommodate our extensive holdings, which will be available to a much wider audience. Added to this the TPHA are just about to publish a New Collected Works of Thomas Paine in 2026 to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. This will be accompanied by a world tour to promote the volumes, and the TPHA.
